Our Commitment to Excellence

Match Dot Pup strives to exceed expectations for our puppies and their families. We aim to make a meaningful impact in the breeding community by setting ourselves apart. It all starts with the well-being of our parent dogs – they are healthy, and content, and undergo comprehensive genetic and physical health testing. Healthy puppies come from healthy parents, and we ensure that our parent dogs exemplify the finest qualities of Australian Shepherds to produce top-notch puppies.

Early Development Boost

We start Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS) and Early Scent Introduction (ESI) when our puppies are just three days old. ENS involves a series of exercises that stimulate the neurological system. This has been shown to result in various benefits, including improved cardiovascular performance, stronger heartbeats, enhanced adrenal gland function, increased stress tolerance, and greater disease resistance. By exposing them to mild stressors and challenges, we help them develop resilience and adaptability.

ESI involves exposing them to different scents that can help them become more aware of their environment and develop a confident nose. By introducing scents at an early age, we help the puppies develop their olfactory abilities and strengthen their overall confidence.

Advanced Development

When our puppies reach 3 weeks old, we transition to a more advanced curriculum. A key component of this program is the daily “10-step puppy massage,” gradually increasing pressure as the weeks progress. Through these steps, we expose our puppies to a wide range of touch, handling, and sensations.

Our comprehensive approach covers gentle touches to their eyes, nose, inside the mouth, collar area, tummy, along the back, tail pulling, ear tugging, and nail tapping. This meticulous regimen ensures that our puppies receive proper exposure to different types of handling and sensations, promoting their overall development and adaptability.

Enriching Early Socialization

Recognizing the importance of early socialization, we introduce our puppies at 3 weeks of age. During this critical period, we expose them to various sounds, sights, textures, and engaging obstacles to explore. Our approach focuses on empowering rather than enabling our puppies, encouraging them to overcome both physical and mental challenges every day.

By providing a stable and stimulating environment, we aim to strengthen their nerves, boost their confidence, and foster problem-solving skills. Our dedicated goal is to offer our puppies an enriching experience throughout the crucial first 8 weeks.

Finding the Perfect "Match"

When our puppies reach 7 ½ weeks old, we administer a comprehensive puppy aptitude test for each one. This test focuses on assessing 14 crucial temperament traits that are essential for ensuring a harmonious “match” between the puppy, your lifestyle, and your specific needs.

After completing the temperament testing and thorough veterinary checks, families are provided with access to evaluation videos and scorecards for each puppy. These valuable resources enable families to make informed decisions based on their specific requirements.

Our Breeding Philosophy

At Match Dot Pup, we believe responsible breeding is about more than just beautiful dogs — it’s about raising well-rounded companions who are ready to thrive in real life, with real families. Our program is built on integrity, purpose, and transparency, and those values guide every decision we make.

Here’s what that looks like in practice:

Puppies Should Be Raised with Intention, Not Just Pedigree

A pedigree may tell you where a dog came from, but it doesn’t tell you who they are. That’s why we focus not only on lineage, but also on hands-on, purposeful development from day one. Our puppies are raised using the Badass Breeder Advanced Puppy Curriculum, which means they’re exposed to new experiences, gently challenged to grow in confidence, and carefully guided through important early milestones. We believe every puppy deserves the best possible start — because that’s what sets them up for lifelong success.

Temperament and Trainability Matter as Much as Structure

While we value the breed standard, we know most families are looking for more than a show dog. That’s why we prioritize stable, intelligent, and emotionally sound temperaments — puppies who are eager to connect, confident in new situations, and responsive to training. Whether you’re looking for a beloved companion or a potential service dog, our focus on temperament helps create dogs who are not just beautiful, but brilliant.

Health Testing is Essential — No Exceptions

Our commitment to health goes beyond routine care. All of our parent dogs are health tested through OFA and complete genetic panels to ensure they are clear of hereditary conditions common in Australian Shepherds. We only breed dogs that meet our high standards for both physical soundness and overall well-being. Healthy parents help ensure healthy puppies — and peace of mind for you.

A Puppy Should Be Matched, Not Sold

We don’t believe in “first come, first served.” Every puppy in our program undergoes a full temperament evaluation around seven-in-a-half weeks of age. This allows us to guide each family toward the puppy best suited to their lifestyle, goals, and experience level. Our matching process takes into account energy levels, sensitivities, social tendencies, and much more — because the right match creates a deeper bond and long-term success.

Families Deserve Lifetime Support, Education, and Honest Communication

When you bring home a Match Dot Pup puppy, you’re never alone. From initial inquiry to go-home day — and long after — we offer resources, guidance, and personalized support to help you raise your puppy with confidence. We value honest, respectful communication, and we’re here for the highs, the questions, and everything in between.

We Don’t Ship Puppies — And Here’s Why

We care deeply about where our puppies go and how their transition is handled. That’s why we don’t ship. Instead, we invite families to meet us in person — to connect, ask questions, and receive hands-on guidance when bringing their new puppy home. This face-to-face experience builds trust and allows us to ensure our puppies are placed with the care, attention, and preparation they deserve.
