FAQ

How much are your puppies?

All of our puppies are $3,000 (pricing differs for service dog quality and our training) regardless of coat color or gender. Puppies who are trained after 8 weeks are an additional fee ranging from $950 to $1,250 depending upon the level of training they receive. See the pricing menu for our package details.

What type of training do you provide for the puppies?

First Level (age 8 – 12 weeks) provides basic commands similar to the AKC S.T.A.R. puppy program. Second Level (age 3 – 5 months) provides advanced training similar to AKC Canine Good Citizen.  More detail can be found under the menu titled training.

Where do I find more information about your service dog training?

Service dogs undergo similar foundational training, which includes both first-level and second-level obedience work. However, their training then advances to include public access preparation, ensuring they are well-mannered and confident in a variety of environments. For more detailed information, please refer to the service dogs section in the website menu.

What if I submit my deposit for a litter and something comes up?

If you reserve a spot on a litter but need to back out, we’ll hold your deposit and contact you when another litter becomes available. However, if you decline a future litter, you will be placed as “inactive”. This will result in your position on the Master list being forfeited, causing your selection priority in upcoming litters to shift lower, likely receiving a higher pick number.

What if I submit my deposit for a specific gender and there's not the gender I want?

If you reserve a spot for a specific gender and there aren’t enough puppies of that gender, you have the option to be moved to a future litter with the same gender specifications. Alternatively, you can choose to switch to the opposite gender if you are comfortable with that. We aim to accommodate your preferences and ensure you find the “perfect match” among our litters.

Where are you located, and do you work with families outside Wisconsin?

We’re based in Wisconsin and proudly welcome families from all across the Midwest and beyond. Many of our puppies have joined loving homes in Illinois, Minnesota, Iowa, Michigan, and other nearby states. While we don’t ship, most families happily drive or fly (our local airport is Central Wisconsin Airport) in to pick up their puppy.

Can I make payments toward my balance while waiting for my puppy?

Yes, you can. We accept payments the same way we accept deposits. You can make payments whenever you’d like, for however much you’d like throughout the 8 weeks. When we receive a payment, you’ll get an update regarding your payments made and the balance due.

What makes Match Dot Pup’s Australian Shepherd puppies different?

At Match Dot Pup in Wisconsin, we raise AKC Australian Shepherd puppies with a focus on health, temperament, and early development. Our program uses the Badass Breeder curriculum, ENS (Early Neurological Stimulation), and thorough temperament testing to produce well-rounded puppies matched to each family’s lifestyle — including future service dog prospects.

How does your puppy matching process work?

We take time to understand your family’s lifestyle and goals. At 7 1/2 weeks, we complete formal temperament evaluations. This allows us to carefully match each puppy to the home best suited for its needs — whether for an active family companion, dog sports, or future service work, therapy, etc.

Do you ship your Australian Shepherd puppies?

No, we do not ship our puppies. We believe it’s important to personally meet each family at pickup. This helps ensure our puppies are safely and confidently placed into the best homes.

Are your Australian Shepherd puppies registered?

Yes! All of our puppies are AKC registered Australian Shepherds. We breed to maintain the breed standard with parents who are thoroughly health tested.

What kind of health testing do you do on your Australian Shepherd parents?

Our adult dogs receive comprehensive health testing, including OFA evaluations for hips and elbows as well as genetic panels for common Australian Shepherd conditions. This ensures we are producing the healthiest puppies possible.

What is the Badass Breeder curriculum you use?

We raise our puppies on the Badass Breeder Advanced Puppy Curriculum. This includes daily exercises, early socialization, and confidence-building challenges. It prepares puppies to transition smoothly into their new homes as happy, resilient family members.

How do I reserve a puppy from Match Dot Pup?

It starts by filling out our puppy application. Once approved, you can place a reservation fee to secure your spot on our list. From there, we keep you updated with photos, videos, and milestones all the way until puppy go-home day.
